As a DIY project its kinda nice, but in the long run you're better off getting a cheap moped or a small bike.
It only makes sense is if you have no license or are 15 years old. In the long run depending on how many hours you need to work on it and the replacement parts you’re buying it will be be little cheaper than a small moped.
