I'm a total noob who is never gonna race but I mean this is the only thread about cycling fitness on here.
So I recently started cycling, I'm doing short 10k rides every second morning right now because my bum hurts, gonna be upping it to every day.
The thing is, I was expecting my cardio to be my shortcoming but it's really not, it's like my legs wear out before I'm even puffed, the only time I can get puffed is by doing sprints which don't seem to do much, getting out of the saddle doesn't seem like much extra power for me right now.
So I guess my question is, do I need to get "puffed" to be increasing my cardio? will just regular cycling that has my breathing increased but not labored still be enough? Should I include sprints or something to deliberately get myself puffed? I'm sure the answer to the legs running out of juice is just more saddle time.
