What are you doing for power on the road? Don't like the dynamo hubs because they seem a) draggy, b) expensive, c) too critical if they fail, and d) impossible to replace on without long wait, wheel building and deep pockets
I've been looking at bottle dynamos after ruling out solar panels as too weak. So far I've found the velological, and the pedal cell which is newer and much more expensive and heavy. Any experience?
Also, I have a headlamp I like for hiking, the Nitecore NU25. It runs from an internal battery but you can also power it directly from your power bank, and has a good throw. Can I just strap that to the handlebars as my main light, or am I missing something here, will it burn through power too quickly by using the secondary bank or not give a good enough throw or something? Why don't bikers use headlamps as front lights more often?
