smaller wheels are harder to bend due to the relative width of the hub they are on
for this reason tandem bikes tend to have wider hubs
and sram has been making wider hubs to try and get 27.5 and 29 inch wheels to be more durable
anyway the main problem with 26 inch wheels is that they are often paired with 19 or 21 inch frames
sometimes I sell bikes with 24 inch wheels to shorter customers or people who have trouble with their knees and hips, so long as the reach between the seat and handle bars is long enough
I suspect it will be hard for you to find a bike that is tall enough, as torso and arm length also factor into things, so while you might find a bike with the right stand over height the reach may need a little adjustment
