Actually, most New Jerseyans still don't go to the major cities in NJ. I grew up in NJ and never went to Newark, Trenton, Camden, Atlantic City, or Jersey City or whatever since they were all really dangerous, not until I was older. Even New Brunswick, Toms River, Vineland aren't amazing.
NJ is just a model for the future of the rest of America and the world. Massive segregation. I think railroads were criticized to protect white communities.
