>>1128958They are certainly catering for their prime market but I don't think the expense of the tourist is really hurting their cause. The JR Pass matter is a much of a muchness because anyone who matters enough to influence HSR in a country probably won't be using one anyway
Certainly though, wifi service would be nice but there's not really much else needed imo. At most more luggage space as mentioned above which is what JR East is doing on their end
For better online booking, that's mostly a western problem outside of peak seasons. Every other time you can just walk up to a counter or machine, ask for the ticket and head for the train
Price is because it's what the market can bear. It's competitive against the airlines while they can still make a massive profit and pay off JNR denbts

Now, the hammer one? It really isn't much utility. The standard class windows are small enough that you probably can't climb out of them anyway lol. The construction on the N700/A is also a plastic and glass type to be thinner. Hammer has no luck on that
