It takes a long time to get good, and the initial stages of learning are the hardest.
Think of it like playing the piano - how long would it take before you could even play a shit ass child's song, learning from scratch, doing 1hr a week lessons? How many years of dedicated learning would it take to manage a concert performance?
Motorcycling has a really high skill ceiling, and deadly/life altering consequences if you get it wrong... so be patient, work on your supporting skills (riding a bicycle regularly and getting good at manual car shifting are good ideas) and get in it for the long haul.
it is worth it in the end, it brings a vitality and interest to my life, and allows me to access the flow state, and it's definitely not mentally taxing to me now like it was when I was first learning.
t. been riding for ~10 years, rode across a few countries, proficient in like 2-3 disciplines and still useless off road and slow on a track.
