The pedals generate way more force than I expected.Not who you replied too, but as you ride more you'll get used to controlling the bike's speed directly with your legs, the amount of force required, how fast you can ride safely, etc. Pull up, push down. It's odd at first. The different feel is fun =] worth it to learn. Just be careful riding fixed; not very practical in traffic really. I miss it. Riding fixed off-road & falling a bunch of times with a goofy grin on my face is the most fun I've ever had on a bicycle.
