>>1696642Yes, I noticed that. Brakes and new tires were on my short list but I was honestly going to put off the back tire because it doesn't have a quick release. For what its worth I rode it 10 miles the day I bought it.
>>1696646>you have a bike co-op near you at all ? I'm a 20 minute train ride from a big city, I will look into this. Sounds like fun.
>>1696647>That's a low end old bike. It's not worth a shops time to restore it. It will cost far more than it's worth too. That's what I was afraid of, I was advised to buy a bike from a shop from the start to get the free tune-up that is usually bundled in but I was eager to get some form of transport ASAP. I'm not opposed to doing some work on it but doubt I would complete all the projects before the late fall/winter weather sets in. I don't see myself riding in the cold.
The truth is I was 90% done working on my shitbox, with just cosmetics left to get it to what I had envisioned when I bought it. Then I narrowly avoided a t-bone and ever since my car has been in limbo as the insurance companies go back and forth on which insurer is paying the damages. Had I not tied up all my money on that car I would have more money to throw at this.
