if you're more than a few degrees off, and you put it on a vertical surface, the drag increases, not decreases. Now consider the weight penalty, and the additional complexity. Clearly there is a point where the aero is of benefit, because a round circle is very draggy shape. But, airfoils will stall when the angle of attack (yaw angle) is ~14 degrees, so you have to do the math and figure out what the benefit is.
