Talking about wireless trams, I noticed that in china it's more or less the standard right now to only install overhead wires at the stops, where trams charge their batteries to move up to the next stop. Catenary wouldn't really 'ruin' the 'aesthetics' of those 8 lane chinese boulevards so I guess it might be cheaper or easier to maintain? Why isn't this system used anywhere in Europe?
