Expensive bikes are more durable, feel more "whole", don't need to be tuned weekly, etc. I've been riding pic related since October non-stop, had 3 crashes, still no maintenance required.

No, you're paying significantly more for barely noticeable bump in performance. Besides, you can get last year's brand new Trek Slash 9.9 for under $6k right now, and that's their top spec. I don't think most people need more than that. My opinion.
