>>1211208>>1211216You are a fucking retard. 23 mm ultra thin tires simply suck. Even the Fred bike industry is moving away from tires that thin. They are less comfortable, they transmit more damage to the wheelset, they are not as fast. You have to constantly inflate the tire or else you can get pinch flats since the tire has no cushion or margin for error. You just cannot hop on the bike a week or two weeks later and hope it has enough psi to prevent a pinch flat.
I never had as many flats as on my Waterford with 23 mm tires. And there is a good reason for it, 23mm is too thin so the tire has to have a big, suboptimal deflection patch to compensate for a rider's weight. See the attached image for an idea of why thin tires flat so much. Once I was commuting home from work, I had a light but I thought a pothole was more minor than it was and it caused a jarring hit when I went over it at speed. Next thing you know I had a flat and I didn't have a spare tube or patch kit. So I had to call a relative for a ride home.
>you've never been strong enoughIt is very funny when 4chan nerds cos-play as strong. Being strong has nothing to do with it, you are better off avoiding large potholes on any tire, but even minor potholes can be a problem for 23mm sucky tires. Or you could bunny hop smaller potholes, but most people don't know how to land bunny hops correctly and fuck up their wheelset prematurely. In that video your dumb arse posted, those trials riders even though they are the best at what they do had to have wasted alot of wheelsets and other components behind the scenes by using ultra-light road bikes as trials or bmx bikes.
