I rode normal bikes with freewheels my whole life so it was weird doing fixed the first time but now it's been years since I rode a bike with a freewheel. I eventually settled with fixed because it handles so intuitively, especially when traction is limited like snow. SS is like the worst of both worlds. No gears or momentum control. It's only good if it's purely a commuter bike where reliability is the most important aspect.
