Seems like it would be a more foolproof option.Square taper can be annoying, it does have annoying issues, but most of the time installs are relatively easy and decent cartridge units, even cheap ones, last a very very long time. Hollowtech bbs by comparsion do not last as long, and they do have their own annoying issues. Maybe not so much on a threaded frame but even then, to get good bearing life you do probably want to have your bb shell on the frame faced so the surfaces align correctly (very expensive tool, job for a shop).
It's kind of a wrong mindset to try to upgrade away from problems like this
