>>1420790Personally, I like Minnesota, Colorado, New Mexico, and California the best - they're distinctive, highly visible, and nice to look at when you see them in person without being overly complicated. My favorite of the purely black and white signs is Pennsylvania's since it checks all the boxes as symbolic, distinctive, yet it's still simple and symmetrical. Nebraska's is the most fun - the thumbnail doesn't do it justice, it's surprisingly detailed.
The worst ones are NH, ND, SD, MI, OH, and MI in no particular order. Most of the rest are just bland. Utah can fuck right off, it's a nice looking sign but their choice of symbols implies an official state preference for a particular religion. And Wyoming has the most disappointing signs, since at least they tried to be creative, but the cowboy silhouette is too small and it ends up looking like a squiggle.
