You live in a not ideal era, but one that is peak automobile- adjacent and from which the incredibly flash in the pan good car culture is accessible. We're very lucky.
Plus, literally every consumer good, our bodies, civilization itself, humanity, and a large amount of culture and art and ideas and everything else is destined for the trash heap.
Living in a car hellscape is a valid problem, and you should actively seek to change your life and move to a walkable/ cycleable city.
For me though, it's cycling to get around and owning a car because it's fun to drive and fun to work on, although rarely driving it.
