In general id say for your first bike you want versatility.
Look for:
Aluminum frame
Carbon fork
At least sora/tiagra/whatever is equal in sram
A slightly relaxed geometry (look for “endurance”, “increased comfort”)
Proper clearance for 32c tires, or at least 28c
Im not sure what europoor country youre in but maybe your roads are shitty, and youll want bigger tires. But $800 can get you a very decent road bike.
