Helmets result in hearing loss, be ware.
My hair and beard is long and I have barely any windnoise at all, even with headwinds. But if I put up a helmet the buffeting and blowing becomes unbearably loud. Can't hear my bike or barely others tongue.
The helmet creates turbulence around the ears and the straps flap creating the buffeting.
This is why all old cyclists used to grow cat-ears. No more windnoise, ever, at all. It's what God gave us to protect our hearing in storms. Use it.
