Went out for a ride today, really nice day and all, and a fucking old woman ran a stop sign and drove right into my back tire. Luckily I was fine and it was fairly low speed. Just had some scraps and cuts on my legs really, but my bike is totally fucked. The back of it is just a mess, the wheel is bent and the gear components are absolutely fucked. Called the police to report it since the lady was panicking and borderline blaming me. I usually film on my go-pro when I bike so that probably saved me since I showed the cops the footage leading up to it to save my ass from being at blame. One of them was nice enough to drive me home too, no idea what will happen at this point but they got all the details and shit and told me they'd be in contact. I'm out like $2500 though now. I'll have to wait for the next stimulus check I guess to replace it.
