Hitachi have paid out £15million in damages, relating to the Class 810s being behind schedule: a quick bout of maths and, with the fleet itself worth around £300million, they've basically knocked 5% off the price tag. A few people were speculating they'd offer one or two extra trains instead as a making-good measure, but, I suppose not.
