I have a very old bike (1987) and it's in amazing condition overall, I mean it's hard to believe it's that old, everything is original and much is like new, for example the cogs on the chain rings have no sign of wear and the paint has no chips etc, but.....
...there's a few spots on the frame where there are squiggly lines under the paint, tiny like baby worms, it's only in a couple of spots. My worry is that this bike is in fact rusting from the inside out, how can I find out without causing any unnecessary damage?
picrel is an example from the top tube, there are maybe 10 or 12 like this on various parts of the bike, oddly the underside seems to be free of them, it's all on top or sides of tubing.
