but man I just don't like the repaints, unless the paint is really bad. I think it just kinda ruins the original character of a bike. I respect the effort but it rubs me the wrong way.
Also I don't think those bikes get ridden after that happens to them. People are too worried about tiny scratches now.
And I hate how badly some 'collectors' inflate vintage bike prices and 'know what they've got'.
I have ridden several high end classic bikes into the ground though, so... There needs to be people keeping them in temp control rooms but i have no regrets about all the km i put on them and the fun i had.
Just a little bit a repaint is like killing a beautiful wild animal, stuffing it, and propping it up in a diorama playing cards in your parlor.
