so you have some of the advantage of rim brakes in terms of leverage
and your braking surface is not a structural part of the rim nor can it directly transfer braking heat to the tire
it is however closer to the ground than a smaller hub mounted disk and may pick up more dust
there are some lightweight motor cycles that use rim brakes to save weight
but they are either home made or limited production
or they are so old as to share parts with bikes of the time
