Anyone know what the highlighted part of pic related means in the context of tugboating? Do you basically have to first gain 180 days of seatime with a lower-tonnage license? Or does a typical AB perform "bridge watchkeeping duties" by informally helping the mate/captain navigate, as many of us do? Trying to figure out if, as an AB, I can apply for the 1600 mate right off the bat or I need to start with the 200 mate and then upgrade later.
