Why is that so? What's stopping someone from making a car that weighs less than they do nowadays? Surely the car doesn't have to weigh 60-70 tons for structural integrity when its cargo is goddamn humans that are as light as a feather.
And i'm whining about it because those 300-400 ton behemoths require huge 5000 hp engines that consume huge amounts of energy, that's why.
