Powerful locomotives pull trains multiple km long across an entire continent, I'd say it's pretty impressive
Passenger service: Toronto and Montreal's commuter rail systems are okay, in places they're even pretty good (Lakeshore lines in Toronto come to mind). Outside of that though, passenger service is nearly nonexistent; and where it does exist, it's constantly late, underfunded, expensive to ride and generally terrible.
