The Purple Line officially broke ground on August 28. It is a 21 station, 16.2mile long LRT serving the Maryland suburbs bordering north of Washington, DC. It is expected to open in 2022.
Connections include the Washington Metro’s Red, Green and Orange Lines, the MARC Brunswick, Camden and Penn Lines, Amtrak’s Northeast Regional, Palmetto, and Vermonter Lines, and the Takoma Langley Crossroads Transit Center (bus station).
136ft long CAF Urbos will be used on the Purple Line.
