Where is the rust even from? The cartridge body itself right? So the rust isn't even part of the equation really.
Because isn't it just aluminium cups in an aluminium shell? Without galvanic corrosion it shouldn't have been that hard to crack.
I think the breaker bar you're using is wrong. So is the impact driver. A bar should get higher torque with multiple people. You need to bolt the tool to the bb so it can't cam out. So you need to use a wrench on the flats of it, not the socket part. Imo. I mean you got it, nice job.
