I looked it up, and Nevada and Virginia have the highest rate at 12% while texas had only 0.5% vanity. I then looked at the DMV websites for those states and found that that cost is a major factor. It's like 300 dollars in texas to have a vanity plate for just a few years, but much cheaper in nevada, for example.
I'm also interested in Florida Plates. I live in Washington and I see Florida plates everywhere and cannot seem to find an explanation. I rarely see other southern states like georgia or south carolina. Heck, I see more florida plates than Idaho plates and that's the state next door.
I saw two cars parked next to each other the other day. One was from Mississippi and the other was Nova Scotia. Blew my mind.
