- encourages bike mfgs to make shittier frames with worse tolerances because customers won't complain about creaking
- additional friction caused by shitty manufacturing tolerances will still be there even if the creaking isn't

- less friction and better stiffness
- same type of interface used in cars and everywhere else bearings are used
Cons:
- more of a pain to install/remove
- can make noise if the frame is badly made, especially if frame is carbon and/or from certain manufacturers who use inferior BB standards - Cannondale and Specialized in particular
