As for the rest of your post I'm already working on my motor, I've been riding regularly and on hilly terrain too. And I know I'm by no means a strong rider already but either way the bike feels slugish, I removed the bearings from the wheels, gave them a proper cleaning and lubing and seems to had done little to no difference.
