>>1209994Strictly speaking it would be a AGT medium-capacity system but all of these non-heavy-rail systems are described as light rail in Korean and the capacity of the system is light rail class anyway.
Spec of the Gimpo Goldline:
Length: 23.65km
Technology: AGT with steel wheel
Operational speed: 48km/h
Max speed: 80km/h
Trip time: 28 minutes
Ordered train units: 23 trains, each with 2 train cars, a total of 46 train cars, can offer capacity of 4630ppl/h
Train car size: L 13.7m x W 2.65m x H 3.6m
The trains will be similar to those currently used in Busan - Gimhae LRT line.
It seems like people living in Gimpo originally wanted the line to be constructed as an extension to metro line 9, but as the line that's running 4-cars train were planned to upgrade to use 8-cars train in the future and it is absolutely impossible to work out the math that would support building such level of infrastructure along the route so they fall back to two-cars AGT trains
