>>1170718Notice too, I tried this formula with Helsinki numbers, which is a pure bred 1st gen system and it gave me 6.5 m for 2.3 m wide cars and 6 exactly with 2.4 m wide, whereas using the numbers from Tampere under construction, 2.65 wide, 3.35 between tracks and 40 m curve radius (minimum structural is 25, but assuming 40 for line track means that in curves the are tighter than 40 m tracks are further apart to compensate that) gives only 8 m.
So there you go, 6-8 m wheelbase, this should give the general ballpark estimation, what sort of rolling stock sizes are achieveable in street running systems.
