>>1436909>>1436910Yeah an N gauge shunting layout is kind of what I was thinking. I want to build a real thing with scenery and stuff too, not just lay tracks on top of my shelf. I could probably put the layout on its own base and overhang a few inches, just measured and 20x36 would be doable, was thinking maybe I could do an oval with normal radius curves up front and the really tight ones hidden behind the back wall.
Japanese prototype kind of appeals to me, maybe a mountain scene with a loop for a little DMU (ideal for tight radius, I think) to run around and a mine or something in the middle with some shunting tracks.
