Hamburg anon here
>U-Bahn (underground metro) (left side train)
Disruptions happen very rarely, and it runs every 5 minutes most of the day. Many stations are overground or just a few meters below so you usually don't have to navigate a maze of a million subways like in London. Sadly they use short trains too quickly and my line is one of the most congested of the network. I'd give it a 7.5/10
>S-Bahn (suburban metro) (right side train)
Good for the West and Southeast of Hamburg, but disruptions happen very often. Also the trains to the South (Harburg) are hopelessly congested, the S-Bahn runs on limited rolling stock for 20 years now and it's run by Deutsche Bahn which everyone hates. 5/10, if I can take the regional train, I use that instead
>Regionalbahn (regional/commuter rail)
Trains towards Bad Oldesloe (northeast) or Harburg (south) are well-used but you can still get seats most of the time, there's also two trains per hour between Hamburg and Kiel (my university's location) so I can go back to Hamburg every weekend easily. Cons are the regular disruptions especially for Deutsche Bahn-run services and the fact that private operators will have to give priority to Deutsche Bahn-run trains always since Deutsche Bahn owns almost all the rail infrastructure in the area. I'd give it a 6.5/10
