They're great for it, just gotta be mindful that snowmobiles often go very fast and aren't always expecting you to be there either, so often times if visibility is limited I might make an effort to get off the trail when I hear them approach. I'd rather not get run over. I've never had a huge issue with it though, most of them are pretty respectful.
This particular pick was taken on trails primarily used by an outfitter, so it's mostly tourists on snower snowmobiles, so there's not much to worry about.
Cross country ski trails are also pretty good, if they're allowed.
