It doesn’t make sense for all of the country’s jobs to be contained in 2 separate square mile blocks, plain and simple. Traffic is only a thing because everyone coming from everywhere else is going to the same place. Even in Tokyo, people need to be squeezed into trains because their transit is overwhelmed. Overpopulation is real. Other countries realized this too late, but luckily the US has a chance to avoid this altogether.
