>>1231283You have a short term memory, CAHSR was just one HSR project alongside similar projects in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Florida. Scott Walker, John Kaisch, and Rick Scott killed all of those while CAHSR took the returned money. That was ten years ago, CAHSR is the only surviving HSR program outside of the Northeast Corridor.
If anything it'll make interstate HSR more likely as CAHSR, as fully built, allows for a connection to Las Vegas which Caltrans is still studying. CAHSR also makes major upgrades to tracks/existing Amtrak service north to Eugene and east to Reno and Yuma much more likely.
