I did some math with online calculators. Considering 75 kg rider and 15 kg bike (including other gear) it would take about 20 minutes to get up a mile long 15% hill if you'd be pushing out constant 200 watts. That means you'd be crunching a cadence of 60 with a lowest gear of your 90s mtb (22/34). With compact road gearing it would mean cadence around 30 lol. Average speed 3 mph. 2.7 W/kg for 20 minutes. Indeed doesn't sound too casual.
