- it was a demo unit of Kingsong S20, the most hyped wheel in 2020-2021-2022
- S20 was hyped in 2020 ("they're gonna announcing it SOON! 20 inch wheel!")
- S20 was hyped in 2021 ("they're gonna announcing its WEBSITE where they will list specs and release dates!")
- S20 was hyped in 2022 ("first demo units shipping February, first batch entering production March-April!")
- demo S20 unit was somewhat abused (possibly including watersplashing) because factory defaults were strongly conservative (you know, manufacturers don't want their demo units to fail, so they enforce lower limits in the configuration)
- then it just puffed some magic smoke and went on fire:

Funnier Facts:
- Kingsong instantly ruled it out as a "firmware bug, will be soon fixed, expect software update"
- then they found out a number of safety issues (fuse didn't blow, etc)
- then they heroically decided to rename S20 to S22 so that people searching for S22 wouldn't get the smoke&fire video as first result
- fixing the issues will take some time; they will probably need also to lower the specifications
- note that it's basically an S18 (18" wheel) sporting beefier battery+motor and a very few small extras
- note that S18 biggest issue was a cheap 20s3p battery (instead of at least 20s4p like the Inmotion V11), probably a failed marketing stunt to make "S18X" desirable for old S18 customers.
Funniest Fact:
- "Kingsong" (old style transliteration) actually reads "chink-choong" (unironically: just watch any Kingsong representative video and listen carefully when they speak Chinese and mention the brand name).
