I dont even have an overly expensive bike, but I just paid $400 (so 13 hours wages, for scale) for a service on my bike + new gear cables + new chain and casette. That's probably more than the half the normie bikes in that shop cost. Fuck knows where the money goes.
Also any kind of decent full sus mtb is guaranteed to get stolen if left anywhere outside. Dont do that to yourself.
