need advice bros.
so im new to real training. doing base finishing fifth week of it., suddently in 2 weeks theres a time trial race here and some buddys want me to go with them. i do a run of the climb (its a climb tt) without knowing the route so i choosed bad gears got burned at half of it and did 11 minutes. so some dudues are doing 9:30 and stuff, winners are gonna be around 9 flat maybe a little less.
if i put a little effort and train for the shit i can prob do 10min flat. kinda a personal goal. the question is.. should i go for it? and interrupt base training?
all my hommies are saying "yow lets do it", but i find no reason to do it if i go do 11, under 10 i find it a bit more understandable.. obviously i wont win .. and i have never raced anything before.. so doing it could be for the racing experience. i know its a personal question but taking in acount your experience.
in short: should i train for it and interrupt base training for a decent first race experience?
or should i just continue with my training and act more like an adult. im not training for any particular race at peak in any case...as i said its my first real training.
destroy me!
