BTW if anyone is actually thinking of getting this bike (do it faggot, no ragrets from me about this bike), you may occasionally get lucky with the BikesDirect lottery and get a free component upgrade(s). Pic related, was supposed to be Avid BB7 mechs but got TRP Hy-Rds instead
>>1150726Yeah, the rack stays really bothered me too. Even my Giant Defy 2, which I was previously using for commuting and is not even a real 'commuting' bike, had better eyelet placement than this shit. Was the whole reason I had to swap away from my saddlebag and into that bottle cage case + handlebar bag for my tools, as using the milk crate would not leave space for a saddlebag
Don't really have any strong opinions on the fork. It looks fine and you can be a turbohydroautist and mount 2 more bottle cages there.
>>1150737Part of the reason I don't do serious commutes much anymore is because my bike is almost guaranteed to be the nicest one on any particular rack. When I was serious about commuting, I would double U-lock + 2 cables, but that was such a PITA & I got lazy anyway and started just using 1 U-lock with the 2 cables.
Anyway, re: roller/cart thingy, it's a Topeak MTX system exclusive. You need a Topeak MTX rack for that front orange QR to work with it. The Topeak MTX ecosystem is nice, it's got a decent assortment of QR stuff for their racks, but you gotta be sure you'll use all their shit cause you're pretty much locked to Topeak products for good with an MTX rack.
