All the touring I've done with it (about a month in total) has been in basically this configuration. In that image I'm carrying my friend's stuff aswell though so that's not a normal load for me.
While it would be liberating to remove the fenders I don't want to deal with a moment of sandy waterspray in my face if I can avoid it. My only real gripe with them is that they sometimes interfere with my pedalling while steering sharply. It's a really minor problem I've learned to work around anyway.
The tires I'm running are supposed to be 32mm but seem slimmer. They also appear to be straight up inferior to my buddy's Schwalbe Marathons (GreenGuard) in every way. I've also bought a pair of 37mm Marathons now which I'm gonna put on today. Thinking maybe I should've gotten 40's. Then again I don't spend a huge amount of time on terrible surfaces so whatever.
