I live in Melbourne and you often see trams with Christmas livery.
When I lived in Sydney - oftentimes the bus drivers would decorate their buses with Christmas tinsel. It was nice to look at - but pretty unpleasant to ride in one of the buses; mainly due to the chemical stench emanating from 5km of brightly colour plastic shit.
I like Christmas though; and the decoration of public transport goes a long way to getting everyone in the festive mood especially when you're doing your Christmas shopping in the city.
