You can ride as alone as you want but keep in mind be self sufficient in order to avoid "surprises" like two flat in a row in the middle of nowhere (just as example). So get tools, bags for the tools and tubes (not only one tube), a good pump, good reflective shit and lights. As final tip, care about your driver behavior in street as if you are a car or motorcycle.
If you want to change and do other routes or stuff, just use your social biker shit as an index of new routes to do. I often use some little time to see (vitrinear) some wikiloc's results for stuff near my home, i've discovered a lot of new paths by this. Other guys use strava for the same purpose.
