I got rid of my car recently because I wanted to save money and when I told my family they acted like I just cut off my hand as an offering to the Gods or something. Even when I flex all the money I've since saved the idea is just completely unfathomable for them to do something similar for themselves. But yeah it's sad how people act like physical activity is some detrimental thing to be avoided even though the reality is the exact opposite- if you rest, you rust. The less active you are the more problems like joint pain/etc you will develop. But we've become a culture that avoids short term 'discomfort' at any cost even though, biologically, that's not how it works.
