When registering a vehicle, you have to get a parking certificate that proves you have somewhere off-street to house the thing. Also, overnight parking isn't allowed. These allow for narrower streets in primarily residential areas. It's kind of weird to even write 'residential areas', because they have a very different take on zoning as well. It's super interesting, you should read up on it.
