She needed over 30k worth of work to get back into the water but is only worth 30k on a good day so the boat was practically worthless except to someone that could do the work themselve. It's common in the wooden boat scene to give a boat away for this reason however the big issue is finding the right person to give the boat to which is why most still list a price even if they want to gift it. I've earned a solid reputation in the boat scene as someone that completes projects and gets a lot done so it was easy for the guy to give me the boat because most wooden boat folk have no drive and follow through and never finish anything, kind of like the past owner. A complete random with no skills as a shipwright would probably never be gifted a boat but it's somewhat common when you're really involved. The interior is pretty empty so no photos right now, it will take me awhile before I work on it
